Now that it’s almost summer, seems like a good a time as any to put last year’s Batgirl/Supergirl Christmas comic up for bid! (Actually I have a family vacation coming up and we need the extra cash).
Scans of the originals are above and the winner also gets a full-color print of the finished comic. I found the thumbnails for this too, so I’m throwing those in as well. Auction ends next Monday at 8PM EST. Good luck!
I did a couple base cards for Cryptozoic’s recent Superman: The Legend set. Here’s one for Kara Kent!
Publishers Weekly broke the news yesterday. My series Cleopatra in Space got picked up by Scholastic:
In a two book deal with Scholastic/Graphix, [David] Saylor and editor Cassandra Pelham bought the first two books in Mike Maihack’s new middle-grade graphic novel series, Cleopatra in Space, starring a cheeky teenage Cleopatra—yes, the teenaged Egyptian Queen—who is transported into the future and enrolled in an academy to train her to save the galaxy from an evil threat. Publication for Book #1, Target Practice, is scheduled for 2014. [The deal was negotiated and finalized by Judy Hansen of the Hansen Literary Agency]
These are new stories—or rather one gigantic new story—separate from the webcomic. For those interested in knowing more, I wrote a quick Q&A about the deal over on CiS.
A couple of 80’s X-gals.
Black & White.
Commission for the X-Men’s most romantic mutant couple, Rogue and Gambit. Remy always seems to be the one hitting on the girls, so I thought’d be fun to turn the tables around a bit.
Switching things up a little, here’s a commission for a Batgirl and Kitty Pryde (plus Lockheed) team-up. Doesn’t seem like Kitty is any better than Supergirl at messing around with poor Batgirl’s world.
Another new Batgirl Supergirl commission. Might be the last of this graphic 4-color series. Never know though.
Commission for Lana Lang. Specifically, the Smallville series Lana Lang.
